Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim 2013

One of the indescribable perks of my new job was attending Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim 2013. The press treatment was amazing. I was fortunate enough to interview two stand-out designers of the week: Mercedes-Benz presents Vitamin A and Vanessa Simmons. I thought both designers presented some amazing pieces. Vanessa Simmons described her swim line Rose by Vanessa Jean as affordable avant-garde. I absolutely loved it. It was amazing to just see. Vitamin A's fashion show was extremely amazing. It was my first front row experience and I will never forget it. I loved the story of colors and patterns that she told with each swim suit.

I will be honest, while there is an insane amount of respect for Mercedes-Benz, I doubted the possibility of bathing suits being interesting enough to merit an entire week. I was happily proven wrong. The colors, patterns and accessorizing seriously left my mind spinning. I am just happy that I was fortunate enough to witness it.

Photo Shoot: I am a Heavenly Brat

Hey,
Not too long ago I had the privilege of being apart of a photo shoot for an emerging clothing line based in South Florida called Heavenly Brat . It was a pretty cool experience. To be completely honest I was surprised when I was asked to be apart of it. I don't think that I am very photogenic (weird I know, but I really just have an obsession with fashion). One thing is certain, I have to learn how to master the art of looking dead into the camera and taking a nice picture. All of my pictures on the blog (the majority anyway) seem to show me not looking at the camera. So that is a new goal for me. I need to learn how to be confident. I am not sure if a 24-year-old woman can learn how to become confident after not being confident for so long. But I guess it is never too late? Ugh, I am such an old soul.

The photo shoot was to promote a line of T-shirts that are now out and available for purchase. Heavenly Brat is the brain child of one my close and talented friends and fellow fashion enthusiast, Ciera Hill, she spawned her love for fashion into a clothing line that is true reflection of what I love the most about the fashion world: constant evolution. Vogue Italia Plus Size Issue....Why I LOVE Vogue Italia and Fashion Bomb...

 

I am so excited about this. I think that it is beautiful. I ran across this while doing my daily reading. I am sicker than sick ya'll. I wanted to do a Fashion Diary this week. IDK if that will be happening. But back to the matter at hand. I need a job with Vogue Italia. They are light years ahead. They won my heart with the all black issue. This issue however, has earned my devotion. I will be at the nearest Barnes and Noble going for broke with just magazine purchases. I-D costs like $11, Vogue Italia find out when I get there and I need a little Jones magazine in my life. I hope you guys like just as much as me. So what say you is this a step in the right direction? Do you like it as much as me?

I am proud of Keri Hilson

Hello all,
I hope your weekend is going well. I have a lot on mind lately so I felt like blogging about a few things. I haven't done a fashion diary in a while. So that will have to be the next order of business. Quick update: I have my camera back. So the picture quality of my photographs will be a lot better. Yayyyy!!!

On to business. Keri Hilson is really standing out to me lately. She is always sexy and while her style is not exactly my style, I always appreciate it. But lately Ms. Keri has been striking my fancy. I am terrible at describing styles but if I must, I will say that her looks on the red carpet lately have had a glamorous vintage feel.

People at Fashion Week

Everyone looked awesome. I had such a great time. I tried to get a few pictures before my phone died. I ended up using Yaya's camera most of the night and then she snapped a few pics for me. I hope you enjoy the looks.

I was in a vintage sequenced jacket. Bebe dress, Horn necklace, Boots the name is escaping me and clutch was a present. 

Gainesvile Fashion Week 2011

 

It was amazing. I think I may have downplayed Gainesville in terms of fashion. The entire show was amazing. Special thanks to Brianti Downing for making it happen for me. I had a lot of fun and I really enjoyed the atmosphere. The show was at Villa East and included numerous boutiques and designers. My favorite boutique of the evening was Viscosity Vintage. One of my favorite designers for the night was Sui Generis and JAFARI & JAHAGHI.  I hope you like the pics. I had a great time.
